Yes it's possible. Just SS the Nightmare and keep doing what you were doing...

yes, if you SS the nightmare and the 55 has cast the sb at the right point it should kill itself even at that level, always good to hit it with desecrate/defile enchantments to make sure Imo :P but yeah it should kill itself before SB runs out

But is it even worth doing in hm? I've been told that the drop rate for ecto is the same between nm and hm. Maybe better normal drops though.

its quite possible but very easy to mess up, SS the nightmare as was said, i also wand it if i'm the 55 to make sure it goes down before SB runs out.

the attaxes are troublesome cause of the leet interrupts, they can and will hit any cast whether its 1/4 sec or not, so bonneti's or something similar is very important

smites will be a pain cause of the scatter in HM, in the end you are better off running 600/smiter, because of the fact that the smiter never has to be in aggro range

Default 55/SS raeps HM.

55/SS pair works out great in HM, as long as you know how to run it. in HM, coordination is required for the version i use: the necro has 55hp. whenever you're fighting a group of more than 3, the necro runs up next to the monk after getting a PS + HB from the monk. then, when the enemies scatter, they scatter right onto the necro. SS kills so fast in HM, it hurts my eyes. (btw, obviously a NM can't be 55'd as the necro. SS + wand it to death. as long as you scan areas before continuing, Nightmares are no problem.)

very doable ss/105... me and a friend did it since the day HM was released... wasnt too much harder... the tank just had to think a bit, and call the nightmare a tad faster.

HM you get maybe 1 more gold out of the entire run since you are only 2manning. The thing is, nothing great drops in UW, except Stormbow, and that's mostly in chests.
Just do NM, it's a lot faster with a 55/SS as the ecto rate doesn't change. 2man smite takes too long with smite crawlers, even with SOJ (signet) equipped on the smiter IMO :/

Well im still for the HM prehaps only for the challange but still the drops have to be better. I mean atleast you can go home with a full inventory of max merchant food.

Yeah to everybody who contests doing NM instead of HM because of the similar drops... you do know that in HM, enemies drop tomes? And that the primary profession of the monster you encounter most, has the rarest non-elite tome? The monk tome? Y'know?
